Herend Figurines were first made in the 1870s. Animals were the first figurines that were introduced. In 1874 Herend makers were first introduced to a Chinese technique. This technique was a fish scale design on porcelain.
The Herend Rabbit is part of the the Bunny Collection. These Rabbit figurines come in all types of colors: some are blue, chocolate, rust, butterscotch, black, raspberry, white, and green, the color spectrum seems endless!
Many of the Herend Rabbits have the distinctive Chinese porcelain plate bearing a fish scale design. The fishnet finish has quickly become famous and is easily recognized as a Herend trademark.
