Limoges pitchers are beautiful porcelain pieces which started being produced in France during the late 1700s. To help determine the age of the piece, it is important for people to take into consideration the quality of the pitcher. Some Limoges porcelain pitchers (and other items) are in very high demand today, so it is important for collectors to determine which pieces were painted by amateurs and which were painted by professionals.
It is for this reason that it is always important to remember that high quality hand-painted items hold more value to a collector than a piece of work painted by an unskilled porcelain painter. And always remember if a piece of Limoges is signed by the painter, it is definitely worth a more than one that is not.
