Most fine decorative collectors know that the name Swarovski is synonymous with high quality crystals. The Swarovski Company was founded by Daniel Swarovski in 1895, and has been manufacturing some of the most beautiful crystals since then. Daniel Swarovski patented the process, which made it impossible for competitors in the field of crystals to be able to match the Swarovski quality of crystals.
Austrian Daniel Swarovski's father was a glass-cutter, which prepared him for his chosen profession of cutting high quality crystals. Swarovski patented a machine powered by hydroelectricity and was able (with some financial backers) to open a "highly secretive" factory to cut his beautiful crystals.
